3D/4D Ultrasound

We had a 3D/4D ultrasound this past weekend and enjoyed every minute of it. Gretchen came along for the entertainment. We spent an hour glued to the screen in amazement of the gift from God that is developing within my body. She was very cooperative - imagine that .... she already likes her picture taken. Not only did we get to see every body part and facial expression, but we had a dvd made of all her movements in the womb. She is VERY active, which I have been telling everyone. For a moment she actually had the hiccups. It was interesting all the crazy positions that she was in, but space is limited since she is getting so big. It was fun to see that she already resembles Chris and me SO much. She has the Tavera nose and my lips and toes. Although the ultrasound was wonderful, it will be even better to hold our little blessing in our arms. 9 more weeks to go.

Note: The lumpy/gooey image that appears on Addison's face is the placenta. She is head down and face up.

We have a name....

We have officially named our little girl - Addison Mae Tavera. It was quite a process, but have finally both agreed on the name. Today Addison had her first baby shower. My sweet friends in Temple showered her with lots of gifts. Her closet is full on baby clothes and gadgets. This is a picture of two of my friends at the shower who are pregnant too! It's nice to have girl friends that are going through all the same things.

Planning Baby T's Nursery & Name

We have officially cleaned out the closet in Baby T’s room. She actually already has clothes hanging in there. We ordered her nursery furniture last week and it should be here by the end of April. We experienced a little bit of sticker shock, but she is going to have the nicest nursery set ever (in our opinion). I’m sure the bigger Maegan gets the less she will want to work, so we plan on getting Baby T's nursery all settled by the end of May. We are still on the name search – we both love the name Addison, but can’t seem to find a middle name that we have fallen in love with yet. We are trying to be patient and aren’t going to settle until we both agree. We also just found out that our neighbor is having a little girl too…so excited!

Another doctors appointment down

We went to the doctor yesterday to check on Baby T. Maegan up another seven pounds - OH MY! Baby T is getting stronger and her heartbeat is a consistent 150 bmp. She actually kicked the doctor when she was trying to find her heartbeat. Dr. Spears is so patient to answer the list of questions that Maegan brings to each appointment. It is time to get registered at the hospital so in the next few weeks we will have to make a visit to Kings Daughters Hospital to get all set up. We are also encouraged to take a tour of the labor and delivery floor. We will post another belly shot this week…

Half Way Mile Marker - 20 Weeks

The half way mile marker in upon us – today is the beginning of week 20. I have officially been introduced to maternity pants. My waistline is expanding and it was time to give Baby T some more room to grow. We were in Dallas last weekend and made our first visit to Buy Buy Baby, a local baby store. I had NO idea how many different baby gadgets were out there. My mom and Gretchen couldn’t help but buy her a few things – they are just too cute! It is time to get ready for her arrival because the next few months will fly bye. Where do we even begin? Nursery furniture seems to be the most logical starting point.

Baby T has begun to move enough for me to feel her. At first I was like “What in the world was that?” Then it dawned on me that our little girl is growing daily and I will finally get to feel her move and kick. Jennifer found a biblical story book so we have already started reading to her about her Lord and Savior. It’s never too early! Last night she heard the story of Adam and Eve. We can’t wait to actually hold her in our arms while we read her these bedtime stories.

We have our monthly check up next Monday with Dr. Spears. They will have ALL of the ultrasound pictures there for the doctor to discuss with us. I can’t wait to see them all again. We ask that you all continue to pray the God will bless us with a healthy little girl. We will continue to keep you posted.

It's a GIRL!!!

We had an (18 week) ultrasound yesterday to find out Baby Tavera's gender. We were so anxious the whole day because the ultrasound was not until 5:00 when we got off work. The ultrasound tech was very nice and has been doing ultrasounds for 29 years. When he first placed the machine on my tummy Chris instantly stood up clapping and was like "It's a boy right?" The tech said "Chris don't get too excited...this is just the uterus...we haven't gotten that far yet!" The tech took lots of pictures of the doctor to review to make sure our little Baby Tavera is growing properly. Then it was time to reveal the gender. Chris jumped up and said "I think I saw something....Baby T is a boy right?" Again the tech corrected Chris and said, "Wishful thinking again...that was the umbilical cord." And then the big reveal happened...Baby Tavera is a GIRL! I'm sure Chris would have liked to have another boy in the family since those seem to be hard to find, but a little girl is PERFECT! We feel so blessed and trust that God is going to provide a healthy baby girl to us in just a few months. Chris is already worried that he is going to spoil her rotten. I actually think she already has him wrapped around her tiny finger. Now the tough part...coming up with a name for our precious baby girl.

16 Week Check Up

Monday January 25 we visited the OB doctor for our 16 week check up. Baby T is growing and so is Maegan's waistline! We are nearing the end of month 4 and Maegan has put on a total of four (4) pounds. Baby T's heartbeat is a strong 150 bpm and is about the size of your hand (approximately 6 ounces). Baby T and Mama T are feeling good and the fatigue is beginning to fade. We are very excited for our ultrasound that is scheduled next week. We will find out the gender of little Baby T. Any predictions - boy or girl?

We Are Expecting!

Chris and I are happy to announce that we will have a new addition to our family very soon. Our little one is expected to arrive on July 8, 2010. When we first found out the news we were shocked and excited all at the same time. We both stepped back and said "Did we really do this?" This sonogram picture is from our 8 week appointment. We feel so blessed that God has created a little baby to start our new family. We went to the doctor on Monday for my 13 week appointment and got to hear the heart beat. It was a strong 150 bpm. Physically you cannot tell that there is a little baby growing inside of my tummy, so the sound of the heart beat made it feel SO real. We are looking forward to this next chapter in our lives and pray that our lives will continue to be a reflection of God in some way or another.
