3 Months Old Today

Addison is three months old today ... time is continuing to fly. We fall in love with her more and more every day. She is all smiles and is starting to laugh. She has become very vocal in the last two weeks - imagine that a girl that loves to talk. A couple of weeks ago we had a sip and see in Seguin for friends to meet little Addison Mae. We were showered with lots of Walmart gift cards ... can't have enough of those. Last weekend Addison attended the UMHB football game to see her Auntie Brookie cheer. Continuing to enjoy every moment....

Loving Life

Addison is loving life! She is such a happy little baby AND wonderful sleeper .... we are on the fifth week of all night sleeping .... YIPPEE! She has mastered her night schedule. She is warming up to the camera since I am constantly taking her picture - trying to capture a shot without her tongue hanging out is a challenge though. We are so in love with this little girl!

Addison Meets Dylan

Our friends and neighbors Marci & Tig Day had a baby girl on Friday Sept 3rd. This is a picture of Addison and Dylan meeting for the first time. It was funny to try and get two newborns to sit up for a picture considering there is not much neck control .... LOL!

Day Trip to Dallas

We took a day trip to Dallas on Saturday to visit with family. Addison was held by her great great Aunt Mary who turns 99 years old this week while we caught up with Cousin Kent. We also visited Uncle Bill & Aunt Madelyn, Cousin Sally, and Cousin Danna. We enjoyed catching up with some of our extended family and introducing Miss Addison to them. Addison did great - it worked out well that every stop was a feeding time or diaper change so she was a happy camper.

Maternity Leave is Over :(

Six weeks has flown by and my maternity leave is officially over ....BOOO! I am back at the office trying to get up to speed on everything that has gone on the real (business) world over the last six weeks. My world since July 12th has involved nothing but feedings, diaper changes, and a precious little baby girl. Chris' mom is staying with us this week while we learn our new morning routine with a newborn. Next week she will be off to Aunt GeGe's daycare.

Slept ALL night

Addison is one month old today. She slept ALL night last night - what an awesome gift to give to her parents. Of course she got more sleep than we did because we kept waking up to check on her. Chris and I watched a dvd called "Happiest Baby on the Block" last night. We have begun to use the techniques (swaddling, side/stomach postion, sushing, swinging, and sucking) - so far so good. We are attempting to get Addison on a schedule so the transition when I go back to work is smooth. We shall see how that goes....

First Family Vacation - Galveston, TX

We took Addison on our first family vacation last week to Galveston, TX. We enjoyed time at the beach, Moody Gardens, and a few local tours BUT most of all we enjoyed LOTS of time at the condo. Addison was a trooper!

First Time To Go To Church

Tomorrow Addison will be 4 weeks old. We decided it was time to start taking her to church. She was a little fussy so Chris stayed in the hallway most of the time, but we made it!

First Doctors Visit

Addison had her 2 weeks check up today. She now weighs 8 lbs 5 oz and is 19 3/4 inches. The doctor said she is as healthy as can be. She had to get a heal stick blood test and wasn't very happy about that. Grammy B was there to carry all the baby stuff - who knew you would need at least 2 more hands just to carry the car seat, diaper bag, etc.

July 12th - 8:13am

Addison Mae Tavera was born on Monday July 12th at 8:13am. She weighed 8 lbs 1 oz. After 17 hours of labor she finally graced us with her presence. Today she is one week old - my how time flies. Mama Meg is healing and Addison is trying to get the hang of nursing. Grandma Cindy is helping with all the domestic duties - laundry, cleaning, cooking - while Maegan focuses her time and energy on little Miss Addison. Grammy B will be here soon to help out too. Addison is such a doll and loves her photoshoots already.

40 Weeks and Still Smiling

We are 40 weeks now and still waiting.....
Addison Mae has not made it into this world just yet. We are anxiously awaiting and know that God has planned a healthy delivery very soon- we just don't when exactly that will be. So for now we will be patient and trust in God.

Bitter Sweet Moment - Grand Daddy Dave

As we approach the arrival of our little girl emotions are strong. We are anxious and excited to finally meet our baby after nine months of waiting and prayer for her arrival. As every BIG event in my life, this is another bitter sweet moment. It makes me sad that my dad will not be here to experience this moment in our lives. He would have been such an awesome grandfather. We plan on making sure Addison knows what a wonderful Christian grandfather that she has and plan to keep his story alive and well. This is a picture of me and my dad the day I was born.

2nd Wedding Anniversary

Today we celebrated our second anniversary as Mr. & Mrs. Tavera. This is our last anniversary without Miss Addison Mae. Although we've only been married two years, we have been in a committed relationship for 10 years all together. We have experienced the highs and lows of life and are happy to have done so together. We are super excited to spend the rest of our lives together - especially with Addison Mae.

Addison's Room is TOOO cute

35 Weeks and Counting.....

Addison is growing ALOT and so and is my belly. She is a wiggle warm and is always squirming around. For the last couple of days she has had lots of hiccups....poor thing. We went by Kings Daughters Hospital on Memorial Day and took a tour of the delivery rooms and the nursery. We are getting super anxious to finally meet her. The count down is on - 5 weeks (or less) to go until we meet our sweet Addison Mae.

3D/4D Ultrasound

We had a 3D/4D ultrasound this past weekend and enjoyed every minute of it. Gretchen came along for the entertainment. We spent an hour glued to the screen in amazement of the gift from God that is developing within my body. She was very cooperative - imagine that .... she already likes her picture taken. Not only did we get to see every body part and facial expression, but we had a dvd made of all her movements in the womb. She is VERY active, which I have been telling everyone. For a moment she actually had the hiccups. It was interesting all the crazy positions that she was in, but space is limited since she is getting so big. It was fun to see that she already resembles Chris and me SO much. She has the Tavera nose and my lips and toes. Although the ultrasound was wonderful, it will be even better to hold our little blessing in our arms. 9 more weeks to go.

Note: The lumpy/gooey image that appears on Addison's face is the placenta. She is head down and face up.

We have a name....

We have officially named our little girl - Addison Mae Tavera. It was quite a process, but have finally both agreed on the name. Today Addison had her first baby shower. My sweet friends in Temple showered her with lots of gifts. Her closet is full on baby clothes and gadgets. This is a picture of two of my friends at the shower who are pregnant too! It's nice to have girl friends that are going through all the same things.

Planning Baby T's Nursery & Name

We have officially cleaned out the closet in Baby T’s room. She actually already has clothes hanging in there. We ordered her nursery furniture last week and it should be here by the end of April. We experienced a little bit of sticker shock, but she is going to have the nicest nursery set ever (in our opinion). I’m sure the bigger Maegan gets the less she will want to work, so we plan on getting Baby T's nursery all settled by the end of May. We are still on the name search – we both love the name Addison, but can’t seem to find a middle name that we have fallen in love with yet. We are trying to be patient and aren’t going to settle until we both agree. We also just found out that our neighbor is having a little girl too…so excited!

Another doctors appointment down

We went to the doctor yesterday to check on Baby T. Maegan up another seven pounds - OH MY! Baby T is getting stronger and her heartbeat is a consistent 150 bmp. She actually kicked the doctor when she was trying to find her heartbeat. Dr. Spears is so patient to answer the list of questions that Maegan brings to each appointment. It is time to get registered at the hospital so in the next few weeks we will have to make a visit to Kings Daughters Hospital to get all set up. We are also encouraged to take a tour of the labor and delivery floor. We will post another belly shot this week…

Half Way Mile Marker - 20 Weeks

The half way mile marker in upon us – today is the beginning of week 20. I have officially been introduced to maternity pants. My waistline is expanding and it was time to give Baby T some more room to grow. We were in Dallas last weekend and made our first visit to Buy Buy Baby, a local baby store. I had NO idea how many different baby gadgets were out there. My mom and Gretchen couldn’t help but buy her a few things – they are just too cute! It is time to get ready for her arrival because the next few months will fly bye. Where do we even begin? Nursery furniture seems to be the most logical starting point.

Baby T has begun to move enough for me to feel her. At first I was like “What in the world was that?” Then it dawned on me that our little girl is growing daily and I will finally get to feel her move and kick. Jennifer found a biblical story book so we have already started reading to her about her Lord and Savior. It’s never too early! Last night she heard the story of Adam and Eve. We can’t wait to actually hold her in our arms while we read her these bedtime stories.

We have our monthly check up next Monday with Dr. Spears. They will have ALL of the ultrasound pictures there for the doctor to discuss with us. I can’t wait to see them all again. We ask that you all continue to pray the God will bless us with a healthy little girl. We will continue to keep you posted.

It's a GIRL!!!

We had an (18 week) ultrasound yesterday to find out Baby Tavera's gender. We were so anxious the whole day because the ultrasound was not until 5:00 when we got off work. The ultrasound tech was very nice and has been doing ultrasounds for 29 years. When he first placed the machine on my tummy Chris instantly stood up clapping and was like "It's a boy right?" The tech said "Chris don't get too excited...this is just the uterus...we haven't gotten that far yet!" The tech took lots of pictures of the doctor to review to make sure our little Baby Tavera is growing properly. Then it was time to reveal the gender. Chris jumped up and said "I think I saw something....Baby T is a boy right?" Again the tech corrected Chris and said, "Wishful thinking again...that was the umbilical cord." And then the big reveal happened...Baby Tavera is a GIRL! I'm sure Chris would have liked to have another boy in the family since those seem to be hard to find, but a little girl is PERFECT! We feel so blessed and trust that God is going to provide a healthy baby girl to us in just a few months. Chris is already worried that he is going to spoil her rotten. I actually think she already has him wrapped around her tiny finger. Now the tough part...coming up with a name for our precious baby girl.

16 Week Check Up

Monday January 25 we visited the OB doctor for our 16 week check up. Baby T is growing and so is Maegan's waistline! We are nearing the end of month 4 and Maegan has put on a total of four (4) pounds. Baby T's heartbeat is a strong 150 bpm and is about the size of your hand (approximately 6 ounces). Baby T and Mama T are feeling good and the fatigue is beginning to fade. We are very excited for our ultrasound that is scheduled next week. We will find out the gender of little Baby T. Any predictions - boy or girl?
